LIFE Timber for All has tested its first full-scale prototype of the ROD-TCC systems at the PEMADE laboratory, a key step towards validating these hybrid timber-concrete solutions aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of construction.
Within the framework of the replicability, results transfer, communication and dissemination activities (WP7 and WP8) of the LIFE Timber for All project, researchers from the University of Granada (UIMA Laboratory) participated on 20 July in the technical conference organised by the Lignomad Network, which brought together professionals from across Spain in Catalonia working in forest management, the timber industry and timber construction.
LIFE Timber for All presented FINSA with the results of the study on incorporating biomass ash into concrete, a solution with the potential to reduce the use of cement and conventional aggregates and move towards a more circular construction industry.
On Monday, 22 June, the headquarters of the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción in Santiago de Compostela hosted the session “NEB Methodology and Timber Construction in Spain”, a meeting aimed at opening a structured conversation with key stakeholders in the sector around a central challenge: adapting the methodological framework of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) to the context of industrialised timber construction in Spain.
Santiago de Compostela hosted a working meeting on 17 June focused on the “Methodology for certifying carbon storage in wood products for construction in Galicia”, one of the development lines linked to the Xunta de Galicia’s Voluntary Carbon Credit System.
The PEMADE-USC 2026 Training Course combines specialised education, innovation and knowledge transfer to bring sustainable timber construction solutions developed within LIFE Timber for All closer to professionals and students.
The first newsletter of LIFE Timber for All, corresponding to the period September 2025–April 2026, is now available. The document brings together in a single format the news items published on the project website, with the aim of facilitating consultation of the main milestones, progress and activities developed by the consortium.
PEMADE welcomed a group of Portuguese researchers for a technical exchange focused on innovation, sustainability, and the development of solutions linked to the forest bioeconomy.
Activities within LIFE Timber for All WP3 continue progressing through research focused on incorporating biomass ashes into concrete formulations designed for hybrid timber–concrete systems.
A recent meeting between institutional representatives and industry stakeholders highlighted advances in forest innovation, industrialised construction, and new solutions for a low-carbon construction sector, areas closely aligned with LIFE Timber for All.
