LIFE Timber for All brings together its latest progress in a new newsletter
The project publishes its second newsletter, covering the period from May to September 2026, with a compilation of the main technical advances, knowledge transfer activities and collaboration initiatives carried out during these months.
LIFE Timber for All has now published its second newsletter, which covers the activities carried out between May and September 2026 and provides a comprehensive overview of some of the main milestones achieved by the project during this period.
The publication particularly reflects the progress made in the different lines of work related to sustainable timber construction and timber-concrete hybrid systems. These include the testing, carried out at the PEMADE laboratory, of the first full-scale prototype of the ROD-TCC systems, an important step in the validation process of these construction solutions and in the study of their potential to reduce the sector’s carbon footprint.
It also includes the results presented on the incorporation of biomass ash into concrete, a line of research aimed at reducing the use of conventional cement and aggregates and promoting waste recovery within a circular economy model. During these months, progress was also made in analysing the technical and regulatory possibilities for its future use in construction solutions.
The newsletter also covers various knowledge transfer and collaboration activities with industry stakeholders. These include the 2026 PEMADE-USC Training Course on timber structures, LIFE Timber for All’s participation in the working group on the carbon credit methodology for timber construction in Galicia, and the event dedicated to the New European Bauhaus methodology and its application to timber construction.
The activity carried out during this period also extended to the dissemination and replicability of the results, with the project participating in the Lignomad Network technical workshop, educational visits to PEMADE and international contacts to explore potential avenues for collaboration, such as the meeting held with representatives of the Lviv Agglomeration Association regarding future sustainable construction solutions applicable to reconstruction in Ukraine.
The publication is completed with the launch of the first LIFE Timber for All Initial Opinion Survey, aimed both at professionals linked to construction, industry, the forestry sector and research, and at the general public. Its results will make it possible to establish an initial reference point regarding the level of knowledge, confidence and perception surrounding local timber, timber-concrete hybrid systems, digital traceability and the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
With this second newsletter, LIFE Timber for All continues to raise awareness of the project’s progress and bring its technical advances, knowledge transfer activities and areas of collaboration closer to professionals, organisations and the general public.
The new newsletter, covering the period from May to September 2026, is now available on the project website.
